Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Morning Meander

November 6, 2024 @ 8:30 am - 10:00 am

Free with Park Fee
Enjoy an early morning walk to watch for birds, lizards, snakes, wild burros, and small animals with Ranger Olivia.

Let’s see what sorts of wildlife we can spot. Birds should be active at this time and there’s not a bad chance for lizards, burros, and small animals too. Binoculars will make things easier, but a magnifying glass will help you find bugs and spiders which can be just as interesting! This hike will be an out and back hike that is about 2 miles on mostly flat terrain with some uneven/rocky areas. Please wear close-toed shoes and bring plenty of water! There is a restroom at the trailhead.

MEETING LOCATION: Wild Burro Trailhead

For those participating in the 100 Miles in 100 Days Challenge (Nov. 1-Feb. 8), this hike is a great way to work towards your goal! For more information about the challenge, visit https://www.maricopacountyparks.net/things-to-do/activity/100-miles-in-100-days-challenge/

Limit 15 participants. To register, please email Ranger Olivia at olivia.holderness@maricopa.gov with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please email back ASAP so those on the waiting list may be contacted. Registration for this program will close on 11/04/2024.
