Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Moonlight Hike

Join Ranger Kevin for a moonlight hike in the quiet beauty of the Sonoran Desert.

Join Ranger Kevin as we hike an approximately 2-mile route along the Overton, Clay Mine, and Go John trails under a full moon. The trails we’ll be on are rated as easy-moderate with some elevation change. We’ll look and listen for animals while taking in the beauty of a desert landscape frosted by silvery moonlight. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring water. Participants are also encouraged to bring a black light and/or flashlight; a small number of these may be available to borrow. Meet at the Nature Center. NO pets please.

Please note: Cloudless night sky is not guaranteed; hike will occur regardless of sky conditions (except for severe weather).

To register, please call the Cave Creek Nature Center at 602-506-2930 ext. 8 with your name, number attending and your phone number. Registration deadline: Wednesday, January 4th.
