Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Life on the Hassayampa

Join Ranger Derik after your morning hikes in the nature center and explore the small world of macro invertebrates that call the parks waterways home.
Water samples will be collected from the spring and Palm Lake in the morning and participants will have the opportunity to look for macroinvertebrate species in the sample. This is a great hands-on activity for kids and homeschool students. The ranger will also be available to answer your questions on hiking trails and to help identify that plants and animals you may have seen in the park.
