Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Homeschool Happenings – Jr. Ranger Program

Ranger Nikki will introduce youngsters to the Jr. Ranger program offered by Maricopa County Parks and Recreation. We will start indoors by reviewing the topics in the booklet and then walk around the Nature Center and nearby areas to start on your activities that can earn you your Jr. Ranger Badge. We will cover subjects such as plants, animals, safety, Leave No Trace and more. Students and their accompanying adults can complete the activities at the park or at home and bring the finished book back later to take the pledge and receive your badge. The program is limited to 20 participating students (a school-age child working toward their Jr. Ranger Badge). Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center.

MEETING LOCATION: Nature Center classroom

Limit 20 participants. To register, please call the Estrella Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 6 with the adult’s name, phone number and number of students attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on Wednesday, November 15.
