Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Fitness Hike

It’s 100 miles in 100 days season here at Maricopa County Parks, so join the fun and come out for a strenuous, 5.5-mile hike on the Slate and surrounding trails.

Trails are rated moderately difficult, so expect loose rock, uneven terrain and elevation change. We’ll pass through some of the finest Sonoran Desert scenery around, all the while keeping our eyes open for interesting birds, reptiles, insects and mammals. This is a great way to get some exercise and/or tick some miles off your 100-mile challenge! Sunscreen and hats are highly recommended. Please wear closed-toe shoes, bring plenty of water and dress for the weather. Restrooms are available at the trailhead, and water is available at the Nature Center. NO pets, please.

If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list.   Registration for this program will close on 11/3.
