Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Discovery Station – Bald Eagles of Lake Pleasant

June 26 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free with Park Fee
Help commemorate America 250, the initiative to honor our Country’s 250th birthday, by learning all about our iconic national symbol, the Bald Eagle. Ranger Nikki hosts a drop-in information table to share fun facts and data on these unique creatures and the efforts to keep them protected.

Gain insight into the amazing world of bald eagles, the roles they play in the environment, where they live, how the Endangered Species Act brought them back from near extinction, and how they are monitored and protected at Lake Pleasant. Ranger Nikki will host a table with biofacts, photographs, information sheets and take-home worksheets for the kids. The table will be set up from 2-4pm so stop by the Discovery Center at your leisure. Wear closed-toe shoes, a hat and sunscreen if you are doing any outdoor activities beforehand or afterwards. Bring plenty of water. Restrooms and water are available at the Discovery Center.
