Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Desert 101 Hike

The hike is rated as easy and will cover 3 miles, gaining 125 ft of elevation. Please note the trail can be sandy and loose in a few places. If mobility and balance is a challenge, hiking poles are strongly encouraged. All hikers should bring a flashlight or headlamp with full batteries or extra batteries. If you have blacklights, feel free to bring them along. Please check the weather before coming; while this is the desert it does get cold here especially at night. Bathrooms can be found just before the trailhead on Asher View Dr.

Limit 25 participants. To register, please call the Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 3 with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 1/21/26
