Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Creatures of the Night Walk

Join Ranger Shaun for an easy-to-medium difficulty sunset stroll down the Metate trail and back up a section of the Spur Cross trail, totaling about 2 miles of distance. We’ll be looking for evening and night active animals as they emerge for the day. NO pets. Restrooms available at the trailhead. Closed toed shoes and water required. Flashlights recommended, blacklights encouraged.

MEETING LOCATION: Picnic area (a few hundred feet past main entrance)

*Please note: Entry to Spur Cross Conservation Area is $3 per person. Annual Pass or CASH are accepted, and exact change is much appreciated. If the fee station past the parking lot is closed, there are iron rangers with envelopes to place your cash payment in.

Limit 15 participants. To register, please call the Nature Center at Cave Creek Regional Park at (602) 506- 2930 ext. 8 with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 09/22/23.
