Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Clay Mine Tour

Join Ranger Kevin on this hike and mine tour that features a fascinating glimpse into Arizona’s past.

Join Ranger Kevin for a roughly 1.8-mile round-trip hike to the Clay Mine, site of a fortune made not of gold, but of snake oil. Program features a tour of the mine itself. Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and bring water. We’ll meet at the Nature Center. Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center. NO pets, please.

MEETING LOCATION: Nature Center

Limit 20 participants. To register, please call the Cave Creek Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 8 with your name, phone number and number attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 3/17/26.
