Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Cacti and Critters Hike

December 20, 2024 @ 8:00 am - 11:00 am

Free with Park Fee

Ranger Nikki will lead you on a hike to look to observe birds, insects, mammals, and reptiles starting their day and learn about saguaros, cholla, prickly pear and more. The route follows Overton and GO John Trails to make a 3.5-mile loop. The terrain is mostly uneven with small to medium rocks underfoot. The beginning of the hike will have a moderate elevation gain in the first 1-1.5 miles. Hiking poles may be helpful. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring plenty of water. Restrooms and water are available at the Trailhead (Nature Center).
