Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: 100 Miles in 100 Days Nature Hike

February 1, 2024 @ 10:30 am - 3:00 pm

Free with Park Fee

Learn about the animals, plants, and ecology of the Sonoran Desert while hiking on this 6.7-mile loop of the Quail, Rainbow Valley, Dysart, and Toothaker trails.

Early wildflowers may be out, depending on how much precipitation we get this winter.  The trails are moderate difficulty with occasional inclines, and rocky and uneven terrain. The hike should take around 4-4.5 hours, depending on how many times we stop. Please wear sturdy footwear and sun protection, carry ample water (at least 3 liters recommended), electrolytes, and snacks. We will meet at the Nature Center, which has restrooms. See park map here: https://www.maricopacountyparks.net/assets/1/6/estrella-8×114.pdf
