Effective management of desert landscapes requires an understanding of sustainable maintenance practices. In this onsite program, you’ll experience various interactive learning techniques featuring the fundamentals of sustainable landscape practices and materials, the importance of desert soils, water harvesting techniques and drip irrigation systems. By gaining this foundational knowledge and best practices, you will be able to use these strategies in your workplace or home garden. Sustainable Desert Landscapes is developed for learners new to the landscape profession, homeowners or for those who want to gain a comprehensive skill set for desert plants and how it to maintain them.
In this 20-hour program, students will learn critical concepts of sustainable desert maintenance and best practices. This program provides the student with in-depth coverage of:
- Sustainable maintenance practices and materials
- Desert soils and hydrology
- Water harvesting
- Irrigation
