Desert Botanical Garden: Desert Landscaping Classes – Planting and Maintenance

Effective management of desert landscapes requires an understanding of the principles landscape maintenance practices. In this onsite program, you’ll experience various interactive learning techniques featuring the fundamentals of planting, pruning and common disorders of desert plants. By gaining this foundational knowledge and best practices, you will be able to use these strategies in your workplace or home garden. Planting and maintenance is developed for learners new to the landscape profession, homeowners or for those who want to gain a comprehensive skill set for desert plants and how it to maintain them.
In this 20-hour program, students will learn critical concepts of desert maintenance.This program provides the student with in-depth coverage of:
- Proper planting techniques
- Proper pruning techniques
- Common plant problems and diagnosis
- Diagnostic labs
This 10-week program meets each week for two hours at the Desert Botanical Garden, 1201 N. Galvin Parkway, Phoenix, AZ. The program begins on September 5 and will end on November 14, 2023. Registration begins July 11, 2023 and space is limited.
