Effective management of desert landscapes necessitates a solid grasp of plant biology and desert ecology principles, particularly their relevance to horticulture. In this hands-on program, you will engage in a variety of interactive learning experiences that cover topics such as plant flowering, succulent photosynthesis, plant hormones, and the effects of pruning in relation to gardening. By acquiring this essential knowledge and best practices, you will be equipped to implement these strategies in your workplace or home garden. The Desert Ecology and Plant Biology program is tailored for individuals new to the landscaping field, homeowners, and those seeking a thorough skill set related to desert plants and their connection to desert ecology and plant biology. All materials included.

In this 20-hour program, students will learn critical concepts of plant structures and functions and how they relate to desert landscapes. This program provides the student with in-depth coverage of:

• Plant classification
• Plant features and structures
• Plant functions
• Plant growth and reproduction
