Chandler Public Library: The Nature of Things – Tales from the Arizona Trail

January 13, 2024 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Free

Its prime hiking time in Arizona!  Join expert hikers, Alix Shafer & Stephen Brown, as they discuss the Arizona Trail’s history, points of interest, and what it takes to maintain our unique state-long trail. The Arizona Trail is our state jewel, starting at the border with Mexico and going all the way to the border of Utah, at a total length of 800 miles. The trail allows users to explore Arizona’s unique biomes on foot, horse, or bike! Other discussion points will include thru-hiking, section hiking, and highlights from the Arizona Trail’s most scenic sections.

Registration is appreciated but drop-ins are welcome!

Brought to you by Chandler Nature Center and Chandler Library, The Nature of Things is a conversation series featuring contemporary topics in science and the natural world around us. If you are interested in local ecosystems and conservation, as well as Arizona’s cultural and natural heritage, this speaker series is for you!
