Arizona State Parks and Trails: Nature’s Bounty – Discovering the Herbal Riches of the Desert

November 15, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Free with Park Fee

Got a tummy ache? Did you wake up with a head-ache or sore muscles? Come out to the park and find out how the Native Peoples of the Sonoran Desert treated a variety of ailments using the plants found in their habitat. The Sonoran Desert is home to a rich variety of plant life used for centuries by Native Peoples medicinally, as a food source, for fuel, shelters, fishing hooks, fibers and even the occasional alcoholic beverage. If you would like to learn more about this thriving environment, join us on our morning hike the third Wednesday of the month at 9:00 AM.

Bring water, a hat, good walking shoes and lots of questions. Meet at Cholla ramada. Event is weather permitting.
