Celebrating Innovation Through Community Events

One of the department’s most anticipated efforts is the upcoming Surprise SciTech Festival on November 22, 2025 — a free, family-friendly celebration designed to spark curiosity for all ages. With more than 100 exhibitors, this year’s festival is shaping up to be the biggest and most dynamic yet.

Visitors will experience hands-on STEAM activities spanning robotics, engineering, environmental sciences, health, earth and life sciences, creative design, and emerging technologies. The festival fully embraces STEAM by showcasing how science and creativity work together to shape our future.

The day will also feature:

• STEAM industry speakers, giving attendees the chance to learn directly from professionals driving innovation.

• Sensory-friendly spaces, ensuring accessibility and comfort for all visitors.

• A Job & Apprenticeship Fair, connecting participants with local employers, career pathways, and training programs.

These elements come together to highlight how meaningful, community-centered STEM engagement can open doors to discovery, skill-building, and future careers. And beyond the festival itself, the City of Surprise continues to strengthen partnerships with schools, nonprofits, and industry leaders to bring these opportunities to the community year-round.
