Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Scorpion Safari

August 29 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Free with Park Fee

Ranger Nikki will lead you on an out-and-back walk to search for bark, striped-tail and giant hairy scorpions. We will also be on the lookout for other nocturnal critters such as bats, owls, tarantulas, geckos, centipedes, stink bugs and more! Bring your UV blacklight to see scorpions fluoresce and a regular flashlight to light your way. No pets, please. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring plenty of water. Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center. The Entry Station will be closed so please bring $10 exact cash for the self-pay station or your annual pass to display on your vehicle.

The Maricopa County Parks website (www.maricopa.gov/parksis the most accurate resource for verifying the program’s status. Please check the program listing online before coming to the park.
