Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Desert 101 Hike

August 7 @ 7:30 am - 9:15 am

Free with Park Fee

Ranger Nikki will lead the way as we search for signs that any monsoon rains have greened up the desert trees, cacti, and perennial shrubs and possibly nudged summer annuals to sprout and bloomWe will trek on Gray Fox and Ironwood Trails and return to the trailhead by walking on a short portion of paved roadway for a total of 2.5 miles. The terrain is mostly level with small to medium rocks underfoot but there are some areas with slightly uneven ground. The roadway portion is flat asphalt. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring plenty of water. Portable restrooms are available at the trailhead. Regular restrooms and water fountains are available at the Nature Center (opens 7am) and at Area 4 along the road to our meeting location.

MEETING LOCATION: Gray Fox Trailhead at the north end of the park. Please allow 10 minutes to drive from the Entry Station to the Trailhead.
