Chandler Public Library: 3d Printer Basics – Tinkering With 3d
April 4 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
$15
During this hands on session I will cover basic tools primarily in TinkerCad, and Prusa Slicer. The goal will be to cover some of the concepts you can use to modify 3d models that are already available or begin creating simple designs.
When I was just starting out doing 3d designs I made a list of operations for useful tasks I wanted to do with existing 3d files or vector files. It turns out many are possible in both TinkerCad and often slicer software itself. The goal is to provide ideas and hands on experience even for those completely new to 3d design.
Laptops will be available during this workshop. If you want to bring your own laptop then plan to have TinkerCad and Prusa Slicer and any other design software you want to use.
If you want to get a head start to make the most of this workshop you can set up a TinkerCad account ahead of time and find some 3d models online that you want to modify. This definitely isn’t required. I will have some demo files we will tinker with.
Adults, and kids age 10 and up are best for this class. If you want to bring kids under 10 they may require more of your help as things get progressively more advanced. Anyone under 18 must have an adult with them.
Sign up to get notices about events you’re interested in. A liability waiver is required before using tools. Anyone under 18 must have a guardian.
