McDowell Sonoran Conservancy: Desert Origins – Educational Hike

Why is the Sonoran Desert here? Join us as we examine how climate and geomorphology interact to create a desert. The presenter will compare and contrast North American deserts, then focus on our Sonoran home and some adaptations necessary to survive this harsh environment. This Moderate hike will cover 4 miles in about 2.5 hours.

Our hikes explore the more remote areas of the Preserve. The difficulty of the hikes varies. Please come prepared and choose hikes that match your fitness level. Activities begin promptly at the start time, please arrive 15 minutes before the start to prepare and check-in.
