Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Discovery Station – Intro To Desert Hiking

Curious about getting started in hiking or want to push your limits in the park on longer trails and not sure where to start then meet with Ranger Derik in the Nature Center and learn about how to safely reach your goals in the desert.
Ranger Derik will have a table set up in the nature center with gear you will need on morning hike or a full day out in our parks. Visitors will have the opportunity to ask questions about what to pack, what trails to hike, how to Leave No Trace, what food to bring, and how to train for their hikes and outdoor recreation goals.
