Mesa Arts Center: Chainmaking

Exploring ancient and contemporary methods of chainmaking, focusing on fabrication of jump rings and links, end caps, and clasps. We will cover Etruscan, Egyptian Spiral, and other linked chains made out of wire and sheet metal.
This is an intermediate level class. Students must have experience using a gas (acetylene) torch for jewelry soldering. Basic metalsmithing fundamentals will not be covered in this class.
