Are you looking to install your own home landscape but unsure how to get started? Would you like to eliminate the uncertainty and achieve exceptional results when installing a desert landscape? Are you seeking to clarify confusing and contradictory landscaping advice? Desert Installation helps you to create our own desert landscape, covering cost calculations, materials, planting, drip irrigation system installation, maintenance planning and much more! This innovative program partners with the City of Scottsdale – Operation Fix It, to install a real-world landscape project from start to finish. By mastering these fundamental concepts and best practices, you can apply these strategies in your professional setting or home garden right away. Tailored for landscape novices, homeowners, professionals or individuals seeking a comprehensive skill set in desert plant care, installation and maintenance. To enroll in this program, participants must have completed the Sustainable Desert Landscapes and Planting and Maintenance courses successfully. If you haven’t fulfilled these prerequisites yet, you can complete them online before October to be eligible for the Desert Installation program.

In this 20-hour program, students will learn critical concepts of desert installation. This program provides the student with in-depth coverage of:

• Material ordering and scheduling
• Local restrictions and zoning
• Safety
• Earthworks
• Planting
• Drip irrigation
• Mulching
• Creating a maintenance plan

This 4-week program meets each week for four hours at the installation site. All materials and equipment included.
