Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Scorpion Safari

Celebrate Halloween with Ranger Derik on a spooky scorpion hike through the park!  

The hike will cover 3 miles (1.5 out and back) along the Horseshoe and Toothaker trails. The Trail is rated as easy and consists of rolling hills on gravel and sandy trail. Please make sure to bring water with you as well as flashlights and blacklights to help with the scorpion hunting. There is a porta john at the trailhead but no water so please plan ahead. If you want to get in the Halloween spirit feel free to wear your Halloween costumes just make sure you are able to hike in it without overheating.

MEETING LOCATION: Horseshoe trailhead

Limit 25 participants. To register, please call the Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 6 with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 10/29/24.
