Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Guided Bird Hike

September 12, 2024 @ 7:00 am - 9:00 am

Free with Park Fee
Look for desert and migratory birds with Ranger Eric!

Learn about birds of Sonoran Desert and migrant birds on this walk with Ranger Eric in a desert riparian area near the confluence of Morgan City Wash and the Agua Fria River. We will hike on the Beardsley Trail for at least 1 mile, which is rated as easy, with slightly rocky or uneven surfaces in places. Please wear sturdy footwear and sun protection, dress in layers, and carry ample water and electrolytes for yourself.

MEETING LOCATION: We will meet at the Beardsley Trailhead off of Beardsley CSR Rd., accessed on the north side of Hwy. 74 immediately east of the highway bridge over the Agua Fria River. See map here: https://www.maricopacountyparks.net/assets/1/6/lake-pleasant-8×111.pdf

*There is a self-pay station (bring cash) for the park entrance fee, which is $7 per vehicle. Maricopa County Parks annual passes also accepted.

Limit 10 participants. To register, please email Ranger Eric at [email protected]. When reserving, please provide your name, phone number, and total number of participants. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please email back ASAP so those on the waiting list may be contacted. Registration for this program will close on Tuesday, 9/10.

Please note: Summer programs may be canceled on short notice due to severe weather, including extreme heat events. The MC Parks website is the best resource for verifying the program’s current status, so please check the program listing prior to departing for your scheduled program.
