The University of Arizona: Statistics & Data Science Colloquium – Multi-omics, Data Science, and Molecular Systems Medicine

Abstract: Data science is an integral part of the emerging discipline of molecular systems medicine. Humans are fundamentally molecular systems in which molecules (genes, proteins, small molecules) interact to take on emergent properties. Molecular systems medicine research brings data science and mathematical modeling together with organ systems physiology, multi-omics, systems biology, genome editing, molecular targeting, precision medicine, and translational research. In the last two decades, our group has applied the principles of molecular systems medicine to study cardiovascular and renal disease.
