Arizona State Parks and Trails: Star Party at Catalina State Park

Catalina State Park’s dark nighttime skies are ideal for astronomical observation. Imagine what you can see through a high-powered telescope! Astronomers from the Tucson Amateur Astronomy Association will be onsite to answer questions and discuss celestial objects and phenomena. Make sure you’re on time to catch the intriguing introduction!

In addition to bringing water, snacks, and a jacket, please bring a red light if you have one. Weather permitting.

Meet at the main trailhead. Event is free with park entrance fee.

2-4 p.m.: Solar viewing with TAAA

7-8 p.m.: Catalina Nights guided hike on the Nature Trail (Sign-up required with a 40-person limit; this is a guided night hike on the Nature Trail. Please bring a flashlight, water, closed-toe shoes, and appropriate clothing for the weather.)

7-9 p.m.: Star Party & Hot Cocoa with TAAA
