Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Desert 101 Hike

Join Ranger Derik on a casual walk through pristine Riparian habitat and learn about the many desert species that call the desert home. 
The walk with cover a 2-mile section of the Dragonfly Trail with Ranger Derik. Some of the topics covered during the hike will be native plants and animals found in the park as well as the history of the native peoples that called the park home. The trail is rocky and uneven in spots and depending on weather it may even be muddy. It is recommended that your wear close toed and supportive shoes. If you have difficulty with balance or just need a little more support trekking poles are a great option.

MEETING LOCATION: Jewel of the Creek Trailhead

Limit 20 participants. To register, please call the Cave Creek Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 8 with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 02/12/2024.
