Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Silent Walking – A Beginner’s Guide to Connecting with Nature

December 20, 2023 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free with Park Fee

Join Ranger Kevin as we learn how to make – or strengthen – our connection with nature through the practice of Silent Walking and Sit Spots. This is a beginner’s level class, so anyone who is interested in cultivating the skills needed to appreciate the natural world in greater depth is welcome. We will learn to relax, change our mindset, and allow our senses to unlock a closer and clearer experience of the Sonoran Desert. This program includes a 15-minute walk on the Palm Walk trail, which is a very easy, flat trail. Please wear closed-toe shoes, and bring water. Hats and sunscreen are recommended. Restrooms and water are available at the Visitor Center. Please, NO pets.

MEETING LOCATION: Visitor Center
Limit 20 participants. To register, please call the Visitor Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 9 with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 12/18/23.
