Fountain Hills Dark Sky Association: Fountain Hills Dark Sky Festival

This annual family-friendly event features a variety of activities and exhibits that highlight dark sky preservation and topics related to it.

We’ve curated activities to appeal to every age group and area of interest when it comes to the night sky. Here are just a few:

  • Passport activity for two student age groups. Visit various activities and exhibitors, get a stamp in your passport, and enter a drawing for a free bike from McDowell Mountain Cycles.
  • Live animals: Wild at Heart, Southwest Conservation Center, Center for Native & Urban Wildlife, Arizona Bat Rescue, and more!
  • ASU Mars Rover exhibit
  • Virtual Reality tours of the solar system
  • Solar Walk
  • Face painting
  • And much more!
  • Fun exhibits and demonstrations
  • Exhibit of live nocturnal animals
  • Student art contest
  • Fascinating speakers who share fun topics
  • Auction of telescopes, telescope equipment, and other great items related to the night sky
  • Beer & wine garden with live music
  • Food trucks
