Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Sunset Hike and Scorpion Safar

We’ve taken two of our most popular hike programs and combined them into one!  For the first half of this program we’ll head out into the desert for a true Western delight: a glorious Arizona sunset! On our way back, as the twilight fades, we’ll break out our UV lights and see how many scorpions we can find! This is sure to become a family fun classic! We’ll be on the Black Rock Loop trail, which is rated easy, with very little in the way of loose rock, uneven terrain or elevation change. Distance is approximately 1.5 miles. Please wear closed-toed shoes, dress for the weather, and bring water. Restrooms are available near the trailhead. Please, NO pets.

Limit 20 participants. To register, please call the Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 3 with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 5/28.
