Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Aquatic Life Walk

June 1, 2025 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Free with Park Fee
Learn about aquatic and riparian life on this guided walk with Ranger Eric.

Join Ranger Eric for a guided walk to explore the rich riparian and aquatic life of this desert oasis. We will look at aquatic organisms around Palm Lake and in the Hassayampa River, then look at some samples under a microscope back in the Visitor Center. Please wear sturdy footwear and sun protection, and carry ample water for yourself. We will hike about 0.5-1 mile at most, depending on the heat. The trails are mostly level, but with some sandy or uneven surfaces along the river trails; Palm Lake is barrier-free and navigable in wheelchair or with stroller though.

MEETING LOCATION: Visitor Center

Limit 15 participants. To register, please call the Visitor Center at 602-506-2930 ext. 9 with your name, phone number, and number of people attending.
