Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Kayak to Castle Creek

August 21, 2025 @ 8:00 am - 11:00 am

Free with Park Fee
Join Ranger Kevin for a leisurely morning paddle up Castle Creek.

Looking to get out on the water, but don’t want to do it alone? Just want to spend some quality paddle time on the lake? We’ve got just the thing! Sign up for this morning kayak excursion on Lake Pleasant. We’ll begin at Castle Creek Boat Ramp (4-lane). From there, we’ll head north, paddling our way up Castle Creek. Along the way, we’ll keep an eye out for wildlife like burros, deer, coyotes, herons, ducks, bald eagles and more. We’ll provide the kayaks, paddles, and PFD’s (personal flotation devices). You’ll want to bring plenty of water to drink, water clothes and shoes, a hat, sunscreen and perhaps a snack.  You may wish to bring a change of clothes (including shoes) and/or a towel for the journey home. This program is for experienced kayakers only; if you’d like to learn the basics of kayaking, please sign up for our next Intro to Kayaking class.

MEETING LOCATION: Castle Creek Boat Ramp (Lake Pleasant north end)
