Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Desert 101 Hike

Join Ranger Eric for a guided hike to learn about the animals, plants, and ecology of the Sonoran Desert. We will hike a 2.6-mile loop of the Baseline Trail. The trails are moderate, with occasional inclines and rocky, uneven terrain. Please wear sturdy footwear and sun protection, carry ample water, electrolytes, and snacks. Restrooms and a water bottle refilling station are located at the Baseline Trailhead by the turf area.

For those of you participating in the 100 Miles in 100 Days Challenge, this is a great way to work towards your goal! The challenge runs from Nov.1-Feb. 8. Limit 20 participants. To register, please call the Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 6 with your name, phone number, and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 11/5.
