SUMMARY:The University of Arizona: WRRC 2025 Annual Conference - Shared Borders\, Shared Waters Working Together in Times of Scarcity
DESCRIPTION:This year’s conference will be held on May 20–21\, 2025\, at the University of Arizona Student Union Memorial Center. \nWhile we strongly encourage in-person attendance to get the full experience\, a non-interactive FREE Zoom livestream will also be available for those unable to attend in person. Our 2025 conference theme is Shared Borders\, Shared Waters: Working Together in Times of Scarcity. The 2025 conference program will focus on the challenges and successes of collaborations across borders. The concept of “borders” is understood broadly\, and speakers will address a range of cross-border issues. Presentations will focus on Arizona and the surrounding region\, describing collaboration on waters shared by the US and Mexico\, as well as cooperation across borders shared with sovereign Tribal Nations\, interstate borders\, and borders within Arizona. This year\, we are also offering a pre-conference workshop on May 20\, Better Listening to Help Transform Water Conflict\, led by Oregon State University Professor Aaron Wolf. Workshop seats are limited and will only be open to registered conference attendees\, so interested individuals should register early. \nThe WRRC Annual Conference typically attracts participants from across Arizona and beyond\, including water professionals\, agency personnel\, farmers\, academics\, students\, environmentalists\, community leaders\, and interested citizens. Please join us for what is sure to be an engaging and informative program! \nRegister by April 7 for the discounted early bird rate of $170 for both days. On April 8\, the standard registration rate will increase to $195. Single-day and discounted student registration are also available. \nIf you are interested in becoming a conference sponsor\, click here for more info. \nSubscribe to the WRRC’s Weekly Wave to stay informed on conference developments.
