After check-in, the keepers & their counselor will gather together, review the rules and behavior expectations, then give an overview of the day’s activities. After learning about the animals, their care needs, and other details for a brief time, the junior keepers will then begin their work.

Based on this summer’s exhibition, The Science of Guinness World Records, World’s Coolest Camp investigates the science behind record-breaking milestones reached by individuals and groups around the world! Explore how YOU can break world records using your physical, mental and emotional strengths!

Focuses on a specific group of animals and includes physical activity and art, math, science, & technology orientated activities. Campers will also participate in animal care, have special animal interactions, and increase their social awareness & sense of responsibility through conservation discussions and helping the reptiles that call PHS home.

Ages 12 – 14
Campers will have the opportunity to combine fashion, function and innovation in this hands-on camp. Everything from lights, prosthetics and hydraulics can be explored throughout the week, pushing imagination, innovation and design to the limit! At the end of the week, campers will show off their creations with a parent showcase.

Students will learn all about mechanical movement and the importance of simple machines. They’ll follow instructions to build various contraptions, then use the models to develop new design ideas, test out physics concepts, and even play games!

Ages 8 – 12
Learn all about electronics, magnetism, and more! Take part in our Minds in Motion electronic lab and take home your very own circuit kit. With the aid of your instructor, simply follow the colorful pictures in your manual to build up to 100 exciting projects such as a flying saucer, alarm, and doorbell!

Ages 5 – 12
Engineer your break with thought provoking adventures. Each session takes place on a thematic island and consists of unique challenges to introduce your child to the world of engineering. Blurring the lines between fun and science, Challenge Island allows kids to solve problems, build bonds, and share ideas.

From the virtual 2D world of Minecraft® to the physical realm of this reality, your child will use LEGO® bricks to practice their creativity and construction skills using the themes they know and love. As much fun as worldbuilding is in Minecraft® with unlimited resources, the challenges posed here will have them thinking of Minecraft and construction in new ways!”

Tortoise Day camps are focused on BOTH Turtles and Tortoises. While we do not interact with aquatic turtles, we make sure the campers know the difference between the two types of reptiles. Campers will learn about why we have so many of these animals, how long they live and the difference in their diets!
