DESCRIPTION:Get ready for an unforgettable week of high-flying adventure! During this immersive aviation camp\, Girl Scouts will explore the exciting world of aviation through hands-on experiences\, behind-the-scenes tours\, and direct interaction with aviation professionals across the Phoenix area.\nEach day\, participants will travel from the Parsons Leadership Center to a different aviation site-ranging from one of the busiest airports in Arizona to a commercial airline-owned aviation academy\, a municipal airport\, and a helicopter training school. Through these unique experiences\, girls will gain insight into a wide variety of aviation careers including pilots\, air traffic control\, maintenance\, engineering\, and airport operations.\nWhat girls will experience:\n*    Exclusive airport tours\, including airfield and operations areas\n*    Hands-on flight simulators and aircraft exploration\n*    Meet-and-greets with aviation professionals and instructors\n*    STEM-based activities focused on aerodynamics and flight principles\n*    Exposure to specialized aviation fields\, including helicopter training\n*    Visits to multiple aviation environments\, from major commercial hubs to general aviation airports\nDaily logistics:\n*    Drop-off | 9:00 AM at Parsons Leadership Center\n*    Pick-up | 5:30 PM at Parsons Leadership Center\n*    Daily transportation to off-site aviation locations provided\n*    Participants are asked to bring a bag lunch each day – avoid bringing nuts\nWhy attend?\nThis camp is designed to inspire confidence\, curiosity\, and career exploration in a supportive\, all-girl environment. DESCRIPTION:Girl Scouts can discover the sport of indoor skydiving with a badge-aligned adventure that builds confidence\, movement skills and fun! Join iFLY for a one of a kind Girl Scout adventure. This high energy and exciting program is aligned with Life Skills Badges and designed for all ages and all ability levels\, making it perfect for Daisies through Ambassadors! \nGirl Scouts will learn:\nBody mechanics and physical movement\nFlight progression and safety fundamentals\nHow indoor skydiving works as a real sport\nTeamwork and confidence building skills\nCertified iFLY educators will lead the entire experience\, so troop leaders and parents can relax and enjoy the excitement right alongside their Girl Scouts. \nWhat’s Included: Educational orientation aligned to Physical Education and Badge program requirements\, one-on-one flying with a certified\, world-class iFLY flight instructor (two flight experiences that include one high flight) Participants will receive a free iFLY patch. \nBrownies\, Juniors and Cadettes will fulfill all requirements to earn Badges\, while Daisies\, Seniors and Ambassadors will have a few extra steps needed to complete requirements under the Life Skills badges.\nBadges girls can earn:\nBrownies: Fair Play\nJuniors: Practice with Purpose\nCadettes: Good Sportsmanship \nWhile iFLY patches are included\, Girl Scout badges are not distributed at this event.\nWho can attend: This event is intended for GSACPC Girl Scouts and troops no larger than 15 girls. If you are a larger troop and you’re interested in a private troop event\, please contact Marissa Cowan (iFLY Regional Manager) at mcowan@iflyworld.com. Parents/guardians or troop leaders should attend as chaperones – no payment is required for chaperones who are not flying. \nWho can Fly: Please notify iFLY if a participant in your group weighs between 260-299 lbs. They may need additional evaluation to fly. Individuals 300 lbs. or over cannot fly. Do not fly if you are pregnant. Individuals with hard casts or prosthetics that cannot be removed are not allowed to fly. Individuals with head/neck/back injuries\, heart conditions\, or any other condition that may impede their ability to take part in a physical activity should not fly. Those with prior shoulder dislocations are advised not to fly. Anyone who plans to fly must complete an online waiver prior to your event. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a guided hike of the Lava River Cave with experienced volcanologist\, Natasha Voss. A graduate of NAU with a degree in Geology and a minor in chemistry\, she has studied super volcanoes in Greece\, eruptions and erosions in Chile\, and worked in Yellowstone National Park\, another super volcano. Her passion for volcanology started in Northern Arizona\, where many of our mountains are actually cinder cone volcanoes! \nGirls will learn all about volcanoes in Arizona\, the formation of this cave\, and gain a wealth of geology knowledge. \nGirl Scouts are encouraged to bring a friend!
