This STEM Pro Live! will introduce you to Brian Kehoe, Maricopa County’s director of waste resources and recycling.

He oversees transfer stations, where trash, recycling, and green waste are taken and divided, and several closed landfills. You’ll hear how Kehoe’s interest in geology and Earth science led him to working in landfills and the amount of work–data-collecting, monitoring, and repairing–needs to go on even after a landfill is closed and no longer accepting more materials.
