Decoding Cancer: What is Cancer?

Students will apply their knowledge about cellular structure, function, and cell growth to increase their understanding about the development of cancer at the cellular level.

 Students will identify common misconceptions about cancer and create a graphic organizer to answer the question, “What is cancer?”

In these classroom-ready interactive high school lessons, students develop problem-solving and decision-making skills with real-life applications. They will apply their knowledge of biology, expand their understanding of genetics, explore relationships between science and technology and learn about health-related careers. All lessons are aligned to Next Generation Science Standards and designed for two 45-minute class periods.
