Carnegie STEM Girls: Soil and Plant Scientist

Soil and Plant Scientists have green thumbs!

They are agricultural scientists that focus on studying soil, crops, and other agricultural products. They examine the properties of soil to determine how well crops can grow and to increase crop production. This science is closely related to environmental science, so maintaining the quality of the environment and using land effectively is a main concern for soil and plant scientists. A bachelor’s degree in agricultural or environmental science is good preparation for this career.
