Carnegie STEM Girls: Mechanical Engineer

Mechanical Engineers work with systems as small as inkjet printers and as big as spacecrafts that travel to the farthest reaches of the universe.

They design, construct, and test the mechanical products and systems, and they are excellent problem solvers. Mechanical engineers focus on efficiency, functionality, and aesthetics. They may work for private manufacturing companies, the government, and military branches.  A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering is needed for this career.
