Carnegie STEM Girls: Forester

Foresters manage the overall land quality of forests and parks.

They have a wide range of duties depending on who they work for. These include making plans for and overseeing forest regeneration, supervising tree harvests, and working to keep forests free from disease, harmful insects, and wildfires. Foresters also organize sites where trees will be planted. They determine the type, number, and location of trees that will be planted. To become a forester, you need a bachelor’s degree in forestry or a related discipline such as agricultural science or environmental science.
