Carnegie STEM Girls: Food Scientist

Food Scientists research ways to develop and improve food products so they are healthy, safe, tasty, and convenient.

They use biology, chemistry, and knowledge of the food processing and manufacturing business. To be a food scientist, one must complete at least a bachelor’s degree in agriculture or food science. Food scientists work in the food processing industry as well as state and federal government agencies and universities.
