Open to students in seventh and eighth grade working individually or as a team of up to four, Challenge 3 is about creating a plan that outlines how to implement electric vehicle charging infrastructure across all 50 states.
With the EV world growing at the pace it is, the need for a larger charging infrastructure plan across the U.S. is critical.
For this project, students will need to present innovative options for an electric vehicle charging infrastructure that could be implemented throughout the U.S. Use the worksheet to identify three key features of the plan in a featured drawing and reference sources of information.
The deadline to submit your project is January 3, 2023.
GEARING TOWARDS THE FUTURE
Science, Technology, Engineering and Math! Barrett-Jackson is partnering with SciTech Institute to bring you “Gearing Towards The Future” — a community, education and outreach initiative focused on STEM education.
Barrett-Jackson’s Gearing Towards The Future aims to encourage and develop future automotive engineers and technicians. The learning modules focus on teaching students how to solve problems and develop new skills using challenge-based projects related to automobiles.
This year’s projects include:
- Designing a vehicle for the future
- Designing, creating and building transportation of the future
- Designing, creating and building electrical components
Winners from the Gearing Towards The Future challenges will display their projects along with companies and organizations focused on STEM initiatives as part of a one-day event called STEM Fest during the 2023 Scottsdale Auction in January, where they will also receive their awards.
