Arizona Game and Fish Department: Focus Wild Arizona Wild Kids - Habitat

What is habitat?

Habitat is the place where a plant or animal lives. A habitat includes enough space for food, water and shelter. Different plants and animals have different habitat needs. Fish are found in water habitats, not on land. Fish need water in their habitat to live.

Saguaro cacti are found in the desert, not the rain forest. The saguaro cactus needs only a little water to live.
Too much water will hurt a saguaro. What do you need in your habitat to live?

Wild Kids Activity Sheets:

These activity pages were originally created more than a decade ago. Every few months, a set of activity pages focused on a particular topic would be mailed to interested individuals. Each set consisted of age specific reading material and activities for students in grades K-3, 4-6, and 7-12.

“Wild Kids” is no longer produced. Over the years, more than thirty different issues were developed. Most have been recovered from our archives. However, some are still “missing in action.”
