Watershed Management Group: River Run Network Restoration Workshop – Willow Planting in Tanque Verde Creek

Join us in Tanque Verde Creek as we harvest and plant native Cottonwood, Willow, and Seep Willow in the locations where invasive Arundo donax has been removed. With the help of River Run Network Members across the watershed, we have been removing Arundo from the Tanque Verde since 2021. This workshop is the next step in helping to restore ecological function to Tanque Verde Creek, supporting the recruitment of our native plants! We will harvest young shoots of Willow, Seep Willow and Cottonwood species to plant throughout areas that Arundo has been removed. This will require volunteers to use loppers, clippers, and/or saws to harvest the shoots.

  • Audience: Adult, Teens (14 - 18 years)
  • Genre: Conservation and Sustainability
  • Type: Field Trip/Outdoor Activity, Volunteer Opportunity

The event is finished.
