Tucson Audubon Society: San Rafael Grasslands Sparrows Field Trip
Dawn in the San Rafael Valley is a winter highlight, not to be missed.
We’re planning to get down there as the sun comes up, perhaps we’ll get a look at the perennial Short-eared Owl hunting at the valley entrance and then hopefully catch some sparrows trying to dry off and warm up on nearby fences. We’ll also scout some waterholes in the area for flocks of longspurs and other winter visitors. Return early afternoon, bring water, snacks, and optics, dress warmly for the cool morning.
Limited to 11 registrants; final meeting instructions will be sent by email.
