Tucson Audubon Society: ROCK CORRAL CANYON Field Trip
Trip difficulty: Moderate with hiking approximately 2 miles along old road
We’ll hike approximately two miles up this canyon located just west of Tumacacori in the so-named mountains. We’ll be looking for both fall migrants and residents in this area known for its luxuriant vegetation due to its protection from grazing. Great solitude and striking scenery. Return early afternoon. Bring good walking shoes (may have to step around/in some wet areas), sunhat, sunscreen, water, snacks and/or lunch.
Limit 11 participants, carpooling necessary. The road in is rough for the first mile or so, so we’ll need another two drivers with high clearance vehicles to accommodate everyone, preference given to these drivers.
