Tucson Audubon Society: Invite Crested Cuties to Your Yard
Northern Cardinals, Pyrrhuloxias and Phainopeplas are all “Crested Cuties” and are among the most charming and noticeable birds in southeast Arizona.
These are the species that folks most often want to discuss during our general audience outreach events and how to say their names correctly often comes up in conversation. We will discuss these charismatic birds themselves, where they can be found in Southeastern Arizona and how they use the landscape. All three species can be invited to your yard with native plants, shelter, food and water and we will share specifics of how this can be done.
